Flight Planning

Post by NigelC »

Heeeellllllllllllpppp!

I use Route Finder for my route planning, and have just found it is down until the middle of next week. Does anyone know another good freeware flight planner?

Nice one Tony but exactly how accurate is the AA routefinder  We've all used it at some point and thought 'what a load of blx' :D

Sri Nigel.. I'm a died in the wool FSNav user and sadly.. this is no longer available for purchase :(

FSC.. FlightSim Commander is available as shareware and works for both FS9 and FSX but I find it akin to having teeth pulled without anaesthetic to use 8)

Most folk who end up in Streatley using Satnav are generally looking for somewhere else. I think there must be some local phenomena that distorts the time-space continuum so try using a map as paper isn't affected :D

Thanks for the link Tom. But it's VFR and I'm looking for something IFR.

Guess it's back to the old ways. Charts, pen, paper, ETC

As usual, this type of post intrigues me so I looked up my navaid bookmarks.

Some are clearly now out of date but I followed one through to its new location:
http://www.vroute.net/mos/Frontpage/Itemid,1/

The free version seems to be worth a further look (need to register).

For the US:

Hiya Eric :hello:

It might be lurking on one of the many torrents mate but I don't think it's for sale anymore. Simmarket kept it available but it's even gone from there now. Shame as I'd have liked to have seen it move to FSX. I might have followed it had that happened :worried:
