As I have the Just flight's Avro Vulcan, I was wondering how do I open the bomb bay doors I cant see anywhere in the cockpit to open them is there a command I could do to open the doors at all ??? As I do like displaying the Vulcan though I have to do the displays with 50% fuel other wise its too heavy and it crashes
Hi James,
This is just a pure guess but you might try Shift-E (you've probably already tried that one), Shift-E-1, Shift-E-2, or Shift-W. Those are typically the keystrokes associated with opening various doors. Hope this helps.
There is a very neat freeware program called Door Control, by Georg Aubele. I think I got it from Avsim a long time ago. But it may be available elsewhere.
It saves all the bother of pressing shift+e+1 or +2 or 3 or whatever. A small panel with 4 buttons is added, and each button will operate a different door.
One option has a panel of 6 buttons, which are 4 doors plus tailhook and wingfold.
It can be installed into any aircraft. In Rick's Andover, which has multiple doors/exits, one of the buttons will even make it crouch. Go into spot view, bring up the door panel, and press the buttons to watch it all happening.
Hopefully, one of those buttons will operate the Vulcan bomb doors.
Hmm doubt if it's wingfold as that won't open in the air
Does it not depend on how it's been allocated anyway Garry. Just because it's wingfold doesn't mean it has to fold the wings!
Anyway.. that gauge Dennis mentioned is a good tool to have. I have it fitted where doors need shift+E+whatever as I can never get the keystrokes to work
Wingfold is a stock command.......you set up the angles etc and it works for in the case of the Freighter the nose doors and the CL 44 the tails swing to open and close but only on the ground.
The conditions are pre set as you wouldn't want to fold your wings in mid air . I suppose you could override it with code but then there woould be no point in using a stock in the first place.
That's why I used it for those fuctions as opening the ends of the fuse in the air makes things a bit draughty
Now...... I'll just sit back and wait for me to tell me it is wingfold
