More Horizon Gen X and FSX scenery....

Post by Trev Clark »

.....almost ready!!
I have just got to write up the instructions and posibly plant a bit more autogen, it should be available over the weekend.

Where is it? Well, tucked away just north of the stunning South Downs (now a National Park) is the small private airfield called Deanland, it is between Lewes and Uckfield.

This time, I have had to re-landscape the local terrain, (the RWY should have a lump in it, but FSX does not allow for this) added loads of autogen forrests and woods, loads of animated stuff (including animals :worried: ) and eye-candy aplenty. This can be set at a level suiting the users PC by adding or deleting some files, some people like busy airfields, others like objects seen whilst in the circuit.

As you can see from the real world photos, it's a tricky little place, my scenery also includes some RC model flyers (who use the real site), but luckily they are waiting for 'you' to land before re-commencing flying!!!

This was very close to where I used to live. Its quite active at the weekends with a powered glider (Fournier?) which was always around and a Jungemann, I believe. If you are using VFR scenery its located to the north of the A27 bewteen Lewes and Polegate and just north of the village of Ripe.

Towards the end of WW2,the original Deanland was located just North East of the present strip and was an ALG. I think it was used in the fight against V1's or V2's. The original site is now a caravan/mobile home park.

The ALG was used by Spitfires on anti V-1 work, nothing could counter a V2.

I have info on the WW2 site, but did not realise it was up the road, so thanks for that info. Oddly the caravan site is featured (with some mobile homes and even some tents) on my scenery. You pass it on departing Rwy12, along with a warehouse/distribution centre and a huge greenhouse complex, also replicated.

A rare wet day here has had me beavering away at my latest scenery, Rougham, near Bury St. Edmunds.

For those with Acceleration Pack, you can re-create the famous Rougham Airshow too!!
