No.. me neither. It looked like a crash you could walk away from and so it transpired.. thank goodness. 1949.. 60 years ago and things in that part of the world haven't changed much!

Thanks for posting. That was interesting and I am glad the pilot walked away. I did find some of it amusing: from living in the Colonies, I suppose my perspective of distance has been changed somewhat. I had to laugh at “Nine miles to Porthmadog, the nearest town” and 1,700 ft peaks. "Wildest Wales"?

Wow, was he lucky!!

Though have to say I smiled when I saw in brackets (Exclusive) They were the only ones' there filming it!!
