If you have been putting off buying new FS hardware
....like I have, this might be of interest!
I bit the bullet on a new joystick (Saitek X-52 Pro, after thinking about it for months) and the 30% off sale here just 'clinched' the deal!!!!! Almost £30 cheaper than I have seen it before.

Re: If you have been putting off buying new FS hardware
Hope all goes well with your X-52 Pro. I bought one about three months ago and it had severe problems with the wiring of the throottle unit. I returned it to my supplier who replaced it with no quibbles. The replacement is still working well and I like it. It seems Saitek have some quality control/build problems but when you get a good one they are great. I find in use a lot of the fancy bits never get used by me but for basic controls it is very pleasant.

I have the X52 non Pro as there was no Pro when I bought mine, It still works good .. except the twist function .
which I recently discovered when I unlocked the twistlock- because I had moved and hadn't yet got my peddles "moved in"
so,..I went to fly helicopter ... it wasn't pretty.
I may get away with cleaning it

I bought the X-52 before Christmas as my present (I had been a good boy for ages). Sadly it was an error, I could not control any aircraft with the joystick, the spring pressure was so light that - for me - it was unuseable. Thankfully I was able to sell it on almost immediately and not lose too much on the deal.
Now my search is on for a replacement for my Logitech om 2.4 which is running out of hours after almost 6 years use. The search continues.....................
Happy New Year everyone.

I was recommended a Logitech 3D Extreme Pro and found it unuseable for the exact opposite reason. The spring tension is so strong, delicate operation is impossible.. in fact ANY operation is almost impossible! Found a secondhand MS PrecisionPro v1 on ebay for £15 and it works a treatSadly it was an error, I could not control any aircraft with the joystick, the spring pressure was so light that - for me - it was unuseable.

My Logitech 3D Extreme Pro is brilliant, spring not too harsh or loose, in fact just right for those delicate moments

The X52 has a brilliant throttle but I find the stick too sloppy. However, if you want separate Stick and Throttle there's not a lot of choice! (unless you want to spend £200 on a Thrustmaster Cougar). The sloppiness of the stick can be improved by using Tie-Wraps on the centre spring to adjust the tension.. My personal favourite stick is the Saitek Cyborg Evo. It has 6 buttons on the thumb plate (as well as hat switch) and the thumb-plate can be adjusted in 'roll' and 'pitch' to give a perfect angle for your thumb. In addition the wrist rest is adjustable for either right or left-handed and can be set in 4 positions

I've got an X52 Pro and have absolutely no issues with it. A best buy for me.
