Thanks Dave...It will be interesting to see what the formation looks like on arrival at Luqa. I think it will hold up well :)

I know how to create a flight plan for just one plane, but how to create a formation like that? *-)

Fran,

The flightplan is the easy bit...The hard bit is to create the 12 identical "Ghost Airfields", one for each aircraft and arranged on the ground in that exact formation. Each of these "Ghosts" is invisible, except to the AI pilots...All twelve flightplans have the same timing and the runway direction is exactly the same true bearing as the True Track from departure to destination. The Ghosts are also positioned so that just after their take-off in this battle formation, they pass over Stradishall as they commence their climb to cruise altitude...Since they have no turns to make on route they will remain in the same formation all the way. I travel with them all the way with "Traffic View Board" attached to one of them. Since the TVB is the user aircraft we do not move out of the Traffic Bubble and I can switch my view from aircraft to aircraft with either "TrafficToolbox > Explorer" or TVB.

To start the flight the aircraft do a "Scramble Take-off" from Stradishall,as previously shown on YouTube:-

They all then land nearby on their 12 Ghost Airfields and that sets them into their "Battle Formation". A few moments later they all move at once and take-off allready on track for Malta and immediately pass over Stradishall where we see and hear them come over the hangars and watch them climb away into the distance bound eventually for Nairobi, Kenya.

The flights with take place on 1st, 2nd and 3rd June 2010...50 years since we flew the actual flights in 1960 :)
