USS Enterprise

Post by Garry Russell »

What 19 years of dedicated scratch building produces. :cpu:

Nice diaplay cabinet for all his 1/72 scale USN aircraft :)

Wow!

The real ship didn't take 19 years to build!

Mind you there were more people working on it I guess! :wasntme:

I know a guy in Montreal who's building a 1/48th scale HMCS Bonaventure... he's been at it for years, figures he's got at least another 10 to go! At least the airwing is smaller than what this gent had to build!

Certainly puts my 1/72 scale Flower-class corvette in its place.

Leaving the carrier aside, you have to admire the bloke for having the patience to build all the aircraft. At least he chose an era when USN carrier aviation was still interesting and varied. Imagine doing a contemporary carrier...the enthusiasm would probably start to flag a little by the fortieth F/A 18 ( or derivative thereof ).

I particularly like the illuminated hangar deck. Excellent stuff!
