Help with British Independents photos

Post by Beaver Cleaver »

Hi,

Tom Gibson and myself are working to complete the British Independents and charter operators for "classic AI." There are a few of which I can seem to find no photos, so maybe some of you may have a picture:

First of which is Executive Air Transport, Ltd, which operated a Heron.
Secondly, is Metropolitan Air Movements out of Biggen Hill.
Finally, does anybody know what color the paint scheme is on this North-South Airlines plane? I'm guessing red.

Let's not forget the "flying coffin"

The website for these photos of North-South is http://oud16hoven.nl/page18.php

cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike :hello:

I've changed the pics to links for copyright reasons

If you do own the copyright then I'll change them back

Had a look at the pics

G-ANCI appears to be in Cambrian basic...therfore red

The Freighter... I'm sure I've seen a colour pic of that somewhere, on that machine...ex Lancashire?????.I'm guesssing here. *-)
Anyway, my guts tell me it's dark blue :dunno:

I doubt if North South had a livery, just using the previous operaters colours with their titles

All this is supposition as I never saw them in real life :worried:

Hi Mike,

As Garry mentioned, North South used the previous owner's livery with just a name change.

Executive Air Transport used shades of green, possibly two-tone and one of the shades possibly metallic. I'm trying to track this down myself. I've found a couple of colour shots of their aircraft...definately green but painted differently :dunno:

Here's a Metropolitan Air Movements scheme for the Heron 2 taken from a colour photo....the photo is copyright so I'm afraid I can't post it.

Off-white or cream underside, wings and nacelles, white fuselage roof, dark blue and red markings as shown, red white and blue flashes on both sides of engines. Interlocked lettering on tail in dark blue and red, arrow points forwards both sides. The fonts are as close as I can get them...can't remember what they are I'm afraid :hide:

Hope this helps,

Derek ;)

Interesting the GPV is shown as belonging to Air Condor and the otehr to North South - did you notice who owned it prior to North South?
