Seafire Mk 15 Restoration and "First Flight"

Post by FlyTexas »

...well, the first flight in the last 50 years or so. ;) Last year I posted some pics taken by my father of the Seafire Mk 15 being restored in the state of Missouri. Here's the thread.

She has since been flown and has also been flown up to Oshkosh recently. Here's a local news story (from Missouri) of the Seafire's "first" flight. I just love the man's desire to make this restoration as accurate as possible.

Nice video. Good to see that yet another warbird has been restored to airworthy status.

Interesting to see they had John Beattie flying it, ex-CO of the RNHF and also flies some of Kennet Aviations collection. Can't be bad getting a trip to the States to fly a Seafire!

yeah right, who could ever imagine a gift like that coming their way.

I think one of the more interesting tid bits is the fact it has all the intruments. Including the Mark IV gun site. :-O
