Updated DH Comet 1&2 and HP Hermes

Post by jensbk »

Version 2 of these two models are available now at Simviation, I have uploaded to Avsim and Flightsim as well. Separate downloads for FSX and FS2004 as usual.

The Hermes has a more detailed cockpit/panel.

The Comet also has more detail in the cockpit, some errors in the FDEs have been corrected (mainly for FSX) and there are some external improvements - more refined textures, a more accurate undercarriage, and the vertical tail has had some cosmetic surgery ;)

I hope you like them. I will probably upload to classicbritishfiles.com tomorrow, if I have the time.

You should install the new Hercules sounds by Gary Jones for the Hermes, and there is an updated version of the Comet 1 sounds available at classicbritishfiles.com as well. I have not included these new sound packages with the models, as they would make the downloads too big. The Hermes defaults to the DC-3 sounds, the Comet includes the first version of the Aeromusica package.

Happy new year,

Jens

Thanks for this Jens - just downloaded from The Pond.

I see that Aeromusica also did a soundpack for the Comet 2-3, also there, dated April 2010, although the read me file is dated Sept 2008:

In your previous pack, the Comet 2 aliases to the Comet 1, so will there be a difference between the two - i.e. if I use this one in the Comet 2 and the new one you refer to in the Comet 1, will I notice any difference (if you know)?

The Comet 1 should not really use a 2 sound pack as the differences between a Ghost and an Avon are pretty distinct :worried:

Not sure of the current range on offer and the number of sources but perhaps time for a review and if anyone does take the trouble to look into it, then post here a nice up to date list :)

Try again, as my previous post seems to have been mislaid

Have tried to download the Comet 1 & 2 v2 FSX package from Classic British Files a couple of times & each time it has cut off just under 6Mb. I am wondering if others have has a similar problem. (Am currently downloading from Simviation instead).

Have downloaded both the Comet 2 & 3 & Alvis Sound files from Classic Britsh Files one before & one after the failed Comet pack & they have completed OK.

Not a complaint, but a HU that perhaps something might be amiss with the zip upload.

Thanks for the Alvis sound set. Will put the Pembroke back in (FSX) & have a fly with some proper sounds.

Just checked the Comet files -- I cant see any problems with the FSX Comet 1/2 and got it in four minutes, so as usual Im a bit flummoxed!

Garry - The FSX Comet 1 & 2 are in serperate folders so aliasing the correct sound files is not a problem.
