Bristol Superfreighter 170 Cant Take Off ?

Post by JBRoberts »

Hi all

I've downloaded the Bristol Superfreighter 170 and am having real trouble taking off. It takes forever to build up speed down the runway and then can hardly lift off the runway. I reduced the payload and fuel to get under the gross weight but still itnis really sluggish.

Any ideas please ?

Many thanks...JB

I'm guessing that you may have opened the throttles too quickly and caused the auto coarsening to activate. Check the various readme text files for take off instructions.

Helloe JB :hello:

Welcome aboard :)

A bit odd as the takeoff if quite sprightly for such a contraption

Most likely as 'Angus' mentions but odd as that would normally cause you to get nowhere at all as you won't have anything with the props at 1 per cent.

Even well overloaded you shouldn't get what you are getting :worried: *-)

Hi fellas

That was it. I think I was pushing the throttle forward to quickly and not following instructions! Thanks for your help...and what a great plane.

Now what does the info mean when I push the E icon. It has a 1 2 and U with some arrows ? I could not find this in the documentation.

Any help please ?

Tks...JB

Glad you're sorted

The 'E' is engine selection

Select only engine 1 or 2 for differential throttle with the joystick or anything else where the actions would normally operate all engines together.

U is for unsynchronised for making the engines slightly out of sync with each other as often would be the case in real life.
