Hawker Hunter FSX questions

Post by MountcookATR »

Hi Dave,

I am really enjoying your Hawker Hunter single seaters, but I have 2 questions:
1. Would it be possible to include a sound gauge (like Doug Dawsons magic XML sound gauge) that would give us clicking switches? I find the audio feedback I get in aircraft like the A2A B-17 Accu-sim to be really engrossing, and wonder if that might be possible.

2. Do the FAA Hunters have carrier launch strops?

3. (This is a big request :worried: ) Do you think in the future, perhaps after your Mosquitos have been completed, you could animte the gunsight range switch, and collimate the gunsight? Here is an example of collimation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Blem3FlkaMc

I understand these are big request, though they would make the already great Hawker hunter experience that much better :excited: :)

I posted here and in the hawker Hunter thread in the new releases forum because people dont visit the new releases forum very often :((

Cheers,
Craig Tatley

Hi Craig

I've removed the identical post to this one you made on another thread

Not good to repeat the post in multiple areas ;)

Hi Craig,

To answer your questions simply,

1. No

2. No (The FAA Hunters were never intended to carrier operation)

3. No

:lol:

re. 1 & 3 If (big if) there is a future update these may be looked at, but don't hold your breath.

Thanks Dave! :cheers:

Though I see the FAA Hunters still have tailhooks - would it be possible to add an invisible launch bar/ strop set?

Thanks anyway,
Craig Tatley :)

I think (not at FS PC at the mo) the FAA Hunters already have the settings for carrier launch & recovery in the .cfg.
If it's not there, it's easy enough to add. I'll check when I get home later & post the relevant info if necessary.

DaveG, Hook but not cat I think, I know I did cat settings for it when I was figuring out how to get it all working in a reasonable fashion and not having the tail scraping the deck or gear disappearing through the deck.

Think I may still have it somewhere, yes it can be done with practically any aircraft

Dave just dug out my FAA Hunters and this is what I have, I may have passed it to you and a few others

[launch_assistance]
launch_bar_pivot = 6.433, 0.0, -2.522
launch_bar_lug = 10.423, 0.0, -4.42

Cat hook up point is just behind the nosewheel, only tested on Ark Royal and Victorious.

Dave going through my downloads the last one does indeed have hook and cat settings so my settings can be disregarded, my apologies for not doing a more thorough check.
