SF2 British Military Classix

Post by J0hn »

Here are the promised shots - resized to 800x600 - much less than the 23 I took, with all the VCs included - just left the one in for the Jaguar GR3:

Also at Third Wire is a sim called 'First Eagles 2' - similar to Rise Of Flight, but not as detailed. Not much wrong with the graphics, though, and lots of fun. Unfortunately, I only have one pic - and it's of a NIEUPORT - I'd just come of second best in a furball, but after losing the engine, was able to glide to a safe landing in the next field:

All good fun! :agree:

SF2 = Strike Fighters 2 from Third Wire http://www.thirdwire.com/ the best place for add-ons etc. is http://www.combatace.com.

There's a Sea Vixen available for it from combatace, although it's quite an old model and could do with updating plus a version of the Wyvern for Strike Fighters is available from the flying stations website.

Ah.. I didn't think it was StreetFighter II as there's no visible signs of kick boxing

Cheers Skip

Skippybing is being far to modest...

His Sea Vixen is absolutely lovely. It was my favourite back when I was flying this all the time... there's also some very nice models of UK carriers to fly off of...

Well... for a mere £15 I figured it looked worth a punt, so downloading now :)

Thanks for filling in Skippy :)

I only discovered this myself in December, and I've been flying it a lot - it's a real hoot.

As I mentioned, it's not for procedural fans, as it's more combat biased (NOT arcade - it's very hard to hit anything with the vintage sights and the radar is accurately simulated from 50' through the decades).

There are several parts and the best way imho is to have them all, including the expansion packs - but no need to buy them all in one go.

Most of the aircraft pictured above are add-ons hosted at Combat Ace, as linked by Skippy above, as freeware.

Infact, there is a huge amount on there - from aircraft to missions, campaigns, terrain etc etc. For the price, it's a real bargain. Last official update was January. And the developer(s) actually listen and respond to the customer feedback, too.
