Aviation yarns

Post by speedbird591 »

My brother has just forwarded me a couple of word documents containing some rather good aviation stories that I think will interest most of you. They're written by John Laming, an expat who lives in Australia and has published a lot of aviation articles and a book in that part of the world but they're not available here.

My brother doesn't know him but is a go-between for John and the man next door who doesn't use e-correspondence. There is a story about flying a 737 in the Pacific through a typhoon after the weather radar failed, but the best one is his recollections of being a kid in Kent during WW2. There are some super stories about plane-spotting during the Battle of Britain and helping the Observer Corps. It'd make a brilliant period TV film.

I've put them in a small zip file which you can download from here http://www.speedbird747.com/downloads/johnlaming.zip

Ian :)
