DM aircraft repaints
is there anywhere where there is a varied supply of repaints for excellent David maltby aircraft? there are a few good ones on flightsim.com (including current BA livery and VC-10 raf livery for the trident, etc), but is there anywhere where there are lots and lots of repaints?

Have you checked Brtisim??
There will not be a current BA for the VC 10 or Trident as that is fiction and is treated here with the contempt it deserves......we are not about fiction here

OH never mind, I was looking for ficticious liveries entirely !
Don't get me wrong, even I scoff at say, a trident with american airlines livery, but since there aren't that many liveries available for the trident, I'm just looking for something to spice it up.
Take the VC-10, persay. I'd like a repaint which is comprehend-able, such as say monarch airlines, or dan air, not something silly such as air france or something.
I Hope you see where I'm coming from.

Not on this site we don't
We are site for reality, fiction plays no part and personally I can't understand anyone wanting to use a livery or aeroplane combination that didn't exist in real life
We are here to escape such horrors.

Re: DM aircraft repaints
It's not just that, it's anything fictional
I've been like that for all my life so it dates well before VA or Flightsim
Seeing model kits in wrong liveries is not something I'd want to be involved in
I'm an aviation historian more than a flightsimmer
When I painted the KLM One-Eleven it's uniqueness was lost as a lot of people thought it was just another fictional livery
Aircraft like Tridents an VC 10 did not have many liveries but that made them special, something easily lost with fiction.
I, like many, would not be members here if the site supported fiction, simple as that.
This should really have been posted in the repaint hangar where it states clearly no fictional requests.

So here's the good side of this thread...
Howdy, I just learned that there was a 1-11 in KLM colours!
Found one pic on the web, you'll surely know:

Wasn't British Eagle the company behind the Swissair-OneElevens too?
Best wishes,
Nick

Re: DM aircraft repaints
Swissair/UTA/SAS and KLM formed a group to joint order aircraft from McDonnel Douglas
To save cost they aircraft were built to the same spec as near ass possible, eqipemant wise at least.
It was called the KSSU group or something. Different members took on various parts ot the main servicing pooling spares and cutting costs further
Three members of the group SAS, Swissair and KLM ordered DC 9's but there was a delay so they leased BAC-One-Eleven from British Eagle to fill the gap
The SAS, Swissair and KLM One-Elevens were all a part of the same leasing deal.
