Capt Sim Boeing 737-100 exterior model
has been released at 9.99 Euro (£8.99 thru Paypal).
I've got it - did the same with the B-52 and ended up saving more than I'd paid for the exterior model when the innards were released.

update - you get the standard FSX B738 VC in the meantime, plus a few little extra 2D panels, and just 3 liveries - Lufthansa, Air Florida and Continental, but knowing the CS community, there will be more to download very soon.
I took some screens, if anyone is interested, but there are plenty on the CS website, so I won't post mine unless requested.

Re: Capt Sim Boeing 737-100 exterior model
Does is have the same god-awful performance hit the 757 does?
My only major problem off the bat is that they did the 737-100 but they didn't do it with the "as delivered" configuration which had the shorter nacelle, JT8D-7 engins, and the original clamshell thrust reversers taken from the 727. I have always wanted a version with this (and Erick Cantu was working on it for his before he left flightsimming) not only because it'd be historically accurate, but also because it'd be interesting to see if anyone could replicate their ineffectiveness and tendency to lift the aircraft off the ground or not.

I'm wondering why there are escape chutes when the doors are opened
I expected a set of stairs at the rear..unless there is a toggled option

Looks like they are just trying to show everything in the screenshots.Garry Russell wrote:I'm wondering why there are escape chutes when the doors are opened

Yep ...but no overwing chutes and no rear steps
The 100 had built in airstair on the rear door too

I'm not sure the 737-100 had overwing chutes. The early 737's were designed that you used the deployed flaps as the "slide" instead of a slide itself. I'm not even sure the New Gen/Classic aircraft had them. I know the NG's do but that is because of the aircraft's extended ground clearance.

I rarely notice such things as I only ever open doors for screenshots - and that is not often.
After all, who is going to get in or out?

No one if you don't open the doors

Re: Capt Sim Boeing 737-100 exterior model
It's also been noted by another user at the CaptainSim forums that the rear door was originally a CRJ-style door that was hinged at the bottom with the stairs built into the inside of the door and an additional "flip down" section of steps.
Too bad they didn't really show us this before it was released so we could really get on them about not doing a real 737-100. Basically what they've delivered is a very early 737-200, not a 737-100.
