AI flying boats package

Post by dswanson »

Hi,

For those with an aquatic bent, an AI Flying Boat package for FS9 is now available at Britsim
http://www.britsim.com/index.php?option ... fo&id=2285

and at Flightsim
http://www.flightsim.com/kdl.php?fid=162054

The package simulates WWII patrol circuits within the British Isles by RAF Sunderlands and Catalinas and includes:
1.Four AI Short Sunderland aircraft
2.Two AI Consolidated Catalina PBY5a aircraft
3.Two sets of AFCAD files for the water landing sites, one for FS9 default scenery and one for the additional FS9 UKVFR payware scenery
4.A set of AI flight plans within the British Isles
5.A set of revised flight dynamics for a user-flown Sunderland and Catalina
6.An E-Z scenery representation of Pembroke Dock

Looks tempting -- thanks for the heads-up! -- and I guess the only way to find out whether it works in FSX is to install it and see..?

Hi,

Hmmm I don't have FSX so can't comment. I would be interested to know how it goes though. :)

I could do with some feedback on any problems encountered generally, as I have an american email correspondent who can't get the aircraft to show and I can't understand why.

Degsy

Remember that FS9 and FSX AI flight plans don't mix. If you load an FS9 package in to FSX it will work but disable all the FSX AI. You have to convert the bgl to FSX first but I can't remember how to do it because I haven't done it for yonks!
