There's another package of an update for FSX of David Maltby's 1-11 400 which has appeared at SimViation today -
http://simviation.com/1/find-file?fileId=39183
Although the uploader gives a lot of credit to DM as the original author, it's not clear from the text whether they sought and received permission to upload this package. Since I have all my original files from DM's website and am not currently flying in FSX, I haven't bothered to download the file (24.72 Mb), so can't confirm whether there is anything to indicate that permission was sought. Just thought you should know that this file exists,

I suppose this update may be to fix gauge smoothness in the Virtual Cockpit, and maybe add the smoke effects back - I'm pretty sure DM said that smoke didn't work in FSX (or was reported not to).
I don't have it, so I can't say, but thats what I'd suspect. Maybe some new liveries/better quality ones (the current ones are good enough in FS9, but may look worse in FSX for some odd reason)
Thats my 2 cents

Got it, tried it, junked it.
The only difference to the original that I can see is that he has put in thumbnails so that the aircraft can be seen in the FSX Directory. The panel is unchanged since it is referred to DMs original and the smoke is unchanged.
In other words a pointless excercise.
I have downloaded a couple of "FSX upgrades" from this guy and none seem to be significantly different from thier original FS9 entities.
I find that DMs BAC1-11 flies perfectly ok for me in FSX anyway but then maybe my expectations are not up to perfection level?

Amazing that there are people out there that still think adding a thumbnail makes it FS.X

Was anything changed in the cfg file at all? Frankly its perfectly easy to make a thumbnail yourself with autothumbnail etc...what a waste of time. Now I may not be able to fly the 1-11 in my fsx, but that's more because I'm still familiarizing myself with the systems than it not working at all.

To be quite honest, I don't know.tango234 wrote:Was anything changed in the cfg file at all? Frankly its perfectly easy to make a thumbnail yourself with autothumbnail etc...what a waste of time. If the smoke is unchged it will be off centre and vertical
There are instructions arround to get the One-Eleven to work in FS.X
