An afternoon with Mr Garwood's new Rapide !

Post by Paul K »

Just spent an afternoon with v4 of Dave's perennial favourite, which he released this past week. It flies beautifully and can be trimmed exactly. It also sounds wonderful - one of the best sound sets I've come across in a freeware model. A must-have addition for FSX !

Just goes to show the Colonials were never really happy with the C-47 and couldn't wait to get their hands on a more advanced design.. ;)

This is G-AIYR in her old Classic Lady colours. I'm pleased Dave included this, because my daughters and I went for a flight in her in this paint scheme from Duxford.

A huge thank-you to all involved in this great aircraft. What a joy she is!

Lovely screenies Paul! May I ask which London scenery you're using? I've never seen the HMS Belfast in the default FSX scenery.

Very detailed it is too. You can even see the offices where my elder daughter works, just near St Paul's cathedral. :)

I used to live at the Elephant and Castle and the Duxford Rapide regularly flew over on it's London site seeing trips.
Occasionally a JU52. Must have been the 90's.
Quite often the BBMF and Red Arrows.
While living in Peckham four Phantoms very low and very noisy (I think this caused a stirr and lead to an RAF ban of sorts).
Not forgetting Concorde several times a week (or was it day, can't remember).

DTR, I've seen one of the Classic Wings' Rapide over London too, and its on my ever expanding list of things to do before I die. Love the plane, love the city!

Them Phantoms must have kept you awake. Yawn-o-fighters are at Northolt these days. They wont be keeping anyone awake! ;)
