Ketchikan in P3D...

Post by petermcleland »

This scenery does test my machine really...It would do better on a 64bit OS that could access more memory.

I knew you wouldn't be able to resist Ketchikan, Peter

I think you might find better performance if you turn down the water reflections. After your last post on the subject I switched them all on and the whole sim nearly juddered to a halt. Turning them off made an immense difference but you might settle for a compromise. Maybe just turn them up when you're using a low impact floatplane? Give it a try.

By the way. The Estonian installer tool we spoke about. The latest version 1.5 supports windows XP 32bit, so worth bearing in mind if you have any FSX stuff that won't install into P3D on its own. The manual is here if you want to check:

Ian, that is a really good idea, it quite obviously does take a lot of power and for a land plane, just not worth it.

I will revisit that installer...The only reason I didn't get it was that it said Vista and Windows 7
