Re: Hachette Lancaster
One of yours, is it, Garry?
I wonder what gap they have on the spark plugs?
I have a couple of 1/32 unbuilt in the museum cupboard; I don't know if I'm game to open any of them now!

Re: Hachette Lancaster
Hi Garry
observant as usual!
At Airspeed's residence is a steel shed containing my aircraft - related bits collection, mainly 1930s-1940s vintage.
That shed is known to me as "Airspeed's Flying Visit", or just "The Museum"
My unbuilt kits are in a steel cupboard under the navigational gear.
I'm working on a website to replace my current Google "AFV".
When it's done I'll change my present personal link to the new version.

Re: Hachette Lancaster
Not long ago,in a shop in North Berwick! there was a model on sale of a DC3, which must have been at least 1/32nd scale or possibly even larger. It was made from Alumium and was in bare metal finish. The engine and undercarriage detail was particularly impressive but I felt it was somewhat let down by the elevators being far too thick and a poor joint between the fin and fuselage, which considering that they were asking £535 for it was not good enough.
Since then, they did have a second one in the window, but I got the impression that there was a slight anhedral on the wings.
I don't know who makes them, but one day they will get them spot on.Having said which, they both sold!EricT

Re: Hachette Lancaster
Hi Eric
They are probably kits and the shop built them up badly
There is a DC 3 like you describe but I can't think offhand who makes it
**edit** This one
https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=c-47+ ... B565%3B401
One went recently, un opened, for $20 on eBay

Hi Garry. You maybe correct. The shop isn't specifically a model shop although they do have one or two large scale WW1 aircraft in the window.IIRC the shop name is called Time And Tide.
I suspect that their prices reflect the fact that North Berwick and East Lothian in general are affluent areas.
