RN Lynx?

Post by TSR2 »

Hi chaps,

just watching the TV tonight and there's some coverage of Lusty out in the Philippines. There were a couple of skid equipped Lynx on board along with a Colonel so I'm wondering would there be an Army detachment on board. Lynx were standard camo rather than the RN seaking green. Strange one.

Lusty is currently half way through Cougar 13 which is an amphibious task group deployment. As such she's got some Sea Kings from CHF and some Lynx from one of the Army squadrons as 847 are in the process of converting to Wildcat, there's also a grey Merlin on there. I think they may have had a grey Lynx earlier in the deployment but I can't be sure, it's rare to find more than one on there unless it's being used for the embarked phase of the conversion course anyway.

Cheers Skip, The wildcats can't be far away now, although the Army ones look silly without skids. :worried:

It looks bloody stupid without a radar, still why'd you want one of those in a battlefield reconnaissance aircraft...
