Very interesting how few Father/Son or Daughter teams there are in aviation, but I suppose many carriers would resist rostering them together . Full marks to Cathay for doing it

Not exactly in the same league, but I am a 3rd generation aircraft worker & nut!
Recently found that my mothers father (who was a chippie) was an employee of Martinsides during WWI until they went bust in the early 20's. My Father & my uncle were both Vickers Apprentices, became licensed aircraft engineers & aircraft owners in the 50's & I was employed as a design & later a development engineer. I did have a pilots license in the late 50's & early 60's, but real world events ( having a wife & kids) prevented me keeping it as well as not being able to achieve my one ambition of competing in a air race with all 3 of us, although I did 'navigate' for my father in quite a few races, so all 3 of us were airborne at the same time in two different aircraft!
I do consider my self very lucky to have experienced what I consider to be the 'good old days' of private flying in the UK.
Good luck to the families that can continue to be & work together.
