I have to say the ATP isn't the prettiest aircraft we've ever produced but those screenies show it in a favourable light ;)

I took my driving test right next to the ATP factory. Notta lotta people know that

Well, it's a lot prettier than the Dash-8 Q400

That sky is rather eye-catching.
Also like the finish on the aircraft.
A bit unsure about those paddocks, or fields as you say. Maybe it's been too long since I saw well watered landscapes? *-)

Hmm.. I'd have to think about that. Neither are particularly fetching and I couldn't put one above the other

Always thought the ATP had the potential to be a good looking aircraft, but then they stuck what looks like the 748 cockpit section on it  (The 748 cockpit looks fine on an Andover / 748 I hasten to add)

Lovely shots though Dave

It is a 748...British Aerospace BAe.748ATP....lengthened with a modifed HS.780 wing and new systems and engines. Smaller windows and doors are about the only serious structural mod to the lengthened 748 fuse.

Then they stuck a silly pointed nose on it and a go faster tail that looks daft and there you have it. :$

They basically did to the 748 more less exaclty what Fokker did to the F.27, but they didn't put a mismatched tail on it.

When they propsed a replacement for the 748 they suggested two options. Modify the 748 or start from scratch.

The general consesus was...start from scratch, they too the cheaper option and fell flat on their face.

Oh...and they said...don call it the Advanced Turbo Prop...it will get outdated and became a bit of a joke.

Well I don't know if it became a joke because of that, but it became outdated soon enough.

ANYHOOO!!

Nice shots :)

Now then.. you leave the manufacturers of the Czech Rolls Royce out of this. From what I gather, the ATP far exceeded any Skoda as far as going tech was concerned

I thought I saw an ATP at Newcastle when I flew out to Majorca at Easter...was I seeing things (and no, I do like a drink but I wasn't one of those lovely people I shared a departure lounge with drinking pitchers of beer at five o'clock in the morning!)?
