Post by J0hn »

For those who find it a bit expensive, but would like to have a go:
DCS Autumn Sale is On! Massive Savings!

From September 4th to September 16th, we will be running our Autumn DCS Sale. We hope you will use these great deals to fill out your stable of DCS modules.

DCS: A-10C Warthog: $39.99 to $11.99 (70% off)

DCS: F-86F Sabre: $49.99 to $39.99 (20% off)
DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora: $49.99 to $39.99 (20% off)

Buy now from the DCS E-Shop
I usually buy on the sales (or use my discount) except for the 'must have' stuff such as the upcoming Hawk T1 (now due in the next 2 weeks).

If you fancy any of the $4.99 aircraft, you are better off buying Flaming Cliffs 3 - as they are all included in it and $12 is an incredible offer. Those are not clickable cockpits, but they are terrific 3D ones. Control is by key or controller assignment. All of the others are fully interactive. Combat is not obligatory!! In fact, several civilian or non-combat aircraft are in the works, too.

Remember, you get the Su-25T (non-interactive) and TF-51D (fully interactive, unarmed) for free, with the DCS World base.

If anyone wants this, but has a rubbish connection for the sizeable download, I'm quite happy to put the stuff you want on a DVD and post it to you :)

It's a nice one to fly :)

Not too complicated, either. A bit limited on the navigation options, though, but we like a challenge, don't we?

Paul, if you got the Sabre, I just came across a helpful video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ac8csxGgXDk

Though I don't think there's anything particularly difficult about operating the aircraft.

Just a HU to anyone interested - Eagle Dynamics have made another mistake and some of the prices in that list are inaccurate (i.e. too low). However, in true DCS style, they just put a note on their user forum, locked a discusiion thread about it and never bothered to let people know the prices were incorrect in the same way they advertised the incorrect ones.

Basically, their PR is dismal. Always has been and probably always will be. Strange, really, because it makes them look like amateurs. Maybe it's a Russian thing :dunno:

The Hawk has supposedly been sorted now, and they usually have a sale right before they release a new module - so somethinng is probably about to be released.

I have flown about 1 hour in the last couple of months - it's getting old to me now and Elite Dangerous is too much fun to share time with, but a good opportunity for those who fancy a go in DCS, but don't fancy the retail prices.
