150 hrs before being allowed near a Spit cockpit......think of the youngsters way back when & how much flying time they had! I don't have my father's wartime log book covering his ATA service (my son has it) but I'm sure he had nowhere near that!
Peter how many hours did you have before being let loose in a Vampire or a Hunter?

When I flew my first solo in a Vampire 5, I had a grand total of exactly 202 hours. That includes 6 hours 35 mins Dual instruction in the Meteor T7...Remember there were no Vampire 2-seaters available in those days!
