I didn't realise that Dan Dare had a York and a Bristol Freighter.

Dan Air had three Bristol Freighter one of which, the one shown, G-APLH, was the first and one of the few aircraft it bought new. G-APLH was the 214th and last Bristol 170 built.

They had a number of Yorks and it was they who saved their last one, also the last of the type in service was this one, G-ANTK, and preserved it at Lasham.

Oooooh what a load of memories there, I was hoping though to see some pictures of my fathers Proctor, no such luck, never mind, it must have been in one of the hangars at the time! -AHNA was the last one out of B/B when it closed in 1960.
