The Beeb and Helicopter Accident in Argentina

Post by simondix »

I was watching the Beebs coverage about the tragic accident in Argentina. What a load of codswallop they were spouting. All about having to understand what had happened. It looked pretty obvious what had happened.

I am not sure that it is that straightforward. The helicopter which is on the left, makes a sudden bank to the right . It is inconceivable that the pilot, who would have been sitting on the right seat in all normal circumstances , would not have had the helicopter to his right within at the very least his peripheral vision, and most probably within his direct vision

Well let us see what the Accident report says, I was really complaining about the reporting by the Beeb. It was really a bit OTT

It's often easy to see clearly what happened. Just why it happened is never clear, straightforward and when the fact are known, often quite surprising.

Speculation is pointless.

Not speculating here but this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0EILSFRLMDc
seems to show the helicopter clips some trees before it swerves and collides with the other.
See the debris from the tree suddenly head toward the camera.
It would explain why the aircraft went out of control.
