VC10 ZA150

Post by VC10 »

With the aid of Tonks today we gave the old girl a brief burst of full throttle and and a roll down the runway at Dunsfold. The initial acceleration was amazing.
If God had meant us to fly, he would have given us tickets.

I am so pleased to see MOG in action again. It was the last VC10 that I ever flew in, just before EAA went down , captained by a lovely man called Preston who looked like James Robertson Justice and was as ebullient to boot! This particular occasion was particularly memorable because by then word had got around and Shell at Nairobi wouldn't give credit and had cancelled the carnet , so Captain Preston had to pay in cash ( history didn't relate where it came from ) which he had chained to him in a very large briefcase !!

Let's hope she does a run for the airshow in August...co-incidently, I think, the same weekend as Brunty: two running VC10s in one weekend!
