Windows 10
Hi All,
I've reserved "my" copy of the above, due 29th July.
It's said to operate faster, but isn't everything?
No idea what the download size will be.
How many of you are going to update as soon as it's available?
Thanks

Re: Windows 10
I've reserved on my Win8.1 tablet & Win7 desktop. I'll only update the tablet for now though as there's nowt important on that. The desktop can wait and see how things go.

It works just fine with FSX and P3DV2.5.

I had been resisting, primarily because LM state that only Windows 7 is the supported OS for Prepar3D.
Microsoft seem to have a habit of producing a bad OS followed by a good one. ME (bad), XP (good), Vista (bad), W7 (good) and W8/8.1 (bad). So I'm hoping W10 will follow suit and be good.
Also. in a recent computer magazine (I'll have to dig it out), was an article on how to use the free upgrade to do a clean install of W10. I always prefer clean installs.

Re: Windows 10
Its a bit of a misnomer that Windows 8.1 was bad. People didn't like the new style start menu, and it is a pain in the ass, but its a very solid OS and significantly better than all that's gone before. I haven't tried the pre release versions of Windows 10 in any detail, but I still think if you're coming from XP / Vista / 7, you'll be in for some adjustment. Hopefully its as solid as 8.1 was.
I have tried Windows Phone 10, which is still in development and its very good. A little glitch in its pre-release form, but very nice.

Right, I was thinking 9 would come after 8 and thus continue the cycle ,, but they've decided skip 9 and go to 10Kevin Farnell wrote: Microsoft seem to have a habit of producing a bad OS followed by a good one. which , in the cycle, is a bad number.
......
the people said, "will there be a os 9?
and MS said, ''Nein"!

Re: Windows 10
I am holding off Windows 10 as I heard DX12 is not backwards compatible and FS9 and FSX wont work...?? I held off moving to Win 7 from XP until recently so not sure whats to do for now, but if FS9 will not run then I will stay with 7.
