Thanks Nigel. There's the usual firework display, bonfire and funfair on Midsummer Common this evening, which we might go to. Looks like its going to be a bit wet, though.

But do all please remember that Pets are terrified of Fireworks so try to keep them away and indoors from any displays and also please check if you have a bonfire set up in the garden or any place near by that there are no Hedgehogs hiding inside the pile of stuff being set up, they look on piles of old wood as ideal places to hibernate which can be fatal at the wrong time of year for them if they are caught inside a fire when its being lit.

Good grief!
You're all so mindful of animals, it's like being at home!
Have a good time, you blokes.
Private fireworks are banned in Victoria, but of course, they're legal in the ACT, so yobbos go over the border, and we have to suffer them anyway.
Fire danger? What fire danger? :stupid: <-----THEM, not me! 0:)
Cheers, Mike.

I was quite surprised to find that Guy Fawkes night is celebrated in Newfoundland, our village bonfire will be held on Saturday night this year and it's already started snowing so it might be a bit chilly!!!.

Can't do much about the animals though, the moose, bear and caribou will have to head for the hills lol.

Well said that man! Up Down!! (even though I support Tipp, as my Mum was reared there)
As for Hodgers, if you wrap them in clay and leave them in the embers for an hour or two, they make a nice snack with a good red, or you can let them cool and make a very tasty pâté
