Nice. That's one hell of a letter opener! What aircraft was that from Peter?

Re: Did Fly but...
Well Dave, I was told by the old man that I bought it from, many years ago, that it was from an Avro 504K that crashed in Abyssinia between the Wars. I have not been able to verify that but I do love it and it's finish is obviously original and in very good condition (apart from the split that it probably received in the crash).

Re: Did Fly but...
That's better than the bent crop-duster prop blade in my museum!
I've worked out why Peter is so knowledgeable, did you see there are two, and possibly three headphone sets in the pic?
How many heads does he have, against my one?
Interesting that the colour of the word AVRO on Peter's computer screen is quite different to both on the prop blade next to the computer, and Peter's second pic.
A 504K? Yes, Douglas Bader did some training in those. Wouldn't be the crash that cost him both legs, though; that was in a Bulldog.

Re: Did Fly but...
Mike, that is interesting about the colouring...The parts of the AVRO badge that are NOT Green on the actual item are pale GOLD not white or silver, but my camera refused to see that!! I was going to scan it with my scanner but there was no room to get the prop blade on it without moving the scanner to another location...So I resorted to using my camera...Headphones?...Well one pair is to listen to my computer, another is to listen to my iPad (however I have now got a wireless speaker set for that) and the third pair that has a microphone are for talking and listening to Joe when we are flying together online
By the way...The computer screen is looking at someone else's propeller, not mine!

Re: Did Fly but...
Well I know it is only a blade, but it is very beautiful wood and wonderfully worked...It stands nicely in a corner and takes up less room than a complete propellor. I remember that the fashion in those days was to cut off both blades and use the remaining hub for a clock case!
