Hi Dave,
Many thanks for this.
The aircraft looks great from all angles inside and out.
I found it pleasant to fly, and was pleased to find that it refuses to loop. Rolls left and right are well controlled. Whether the original should have been treated so harshly, I don't know!
The only problem I had was after landing, I thought I was giving the toe brakes a gentle nudge at low speed, and I managed to tip the little darling onto its propellor.
Will need to try again later to see if it's a real problem, or me being clumsy! Bit late for another flight now.
btw, sometimes, your dropbox link shows, other times not, is that just me?

Ahhh...Now I found that she jiggles above 40 mph in FS9, but not in FSX. The engine overspeeds as does the aircraft. She is registered as being aerobatic, so should be able to loop! She refuses to spin & I find she is a bit up in the air when on the ground. One has to be careful when stalling her as she needs a lot of air under her to recover.
So in my usual fashion I have adjusted the aircraft.cfg & the .air file & sent them to Dave for his testing. Jiggles stopped after MOI adjustment, I can now get the placard speeds & rpm, she will just loop & sometimes spin if you catch her correctly. Stall has been modified unless you keep the stick back all the time. Contact points moved a bit forward, so as long as you keep the stick back you can brake without tipping over. I had trouble finding any geometry data or good 3 view, as well as finding the engine capacity (did find that in the end!)
So I hope my mods meet Daves approval & await his reply.

Odd, David Ogilvy reckons the old bird is not cleared for aerobatics.

I did once do a main wheels landing that ended in a nose over after letting it run along the runway with no aft stick. But that may have been down to flying on this laptop without centring the joystick. I'm fairly sure that I saw one of the early flights after rebuilding at Shuttleworth. It is one plane I have been wanting in flightsim, but never expected to see.

Now if someone would just jump into his Civic and get down there and start modelling Miss Kenya (not a word to SWMBO - promise).......

Re the aerobatics bit Allan, No mystery there - when built - yes it could twizzle about the skies.
But now the venerable oldie is limited in the manoeuvres it's allowed to perform (bit like me really).
Look at that huge prop on that DH51 Well, you never know -it is my ambition to model all the Shuttleworth aircraft which
haven't already been made - well, nearly all, the Pitcher Bat won't be on my liist for one..

G-INFO still shows her as being registered as 'normal or Aerobatic', & there is a reference also in a Flight Global article as being aerobatic at 1500 lbs AUW.
Now thats the aerodynamic capability, but as with all aircraft is it really wise to do so......

Quite so Keith, my wife's got two shiny new tin hips but I still wouldn't enter into the Olympic gymnastics even if she could give the Elf a decade or three.

For Miss K's prop Dave you could borrow one off the Microsoft Vimy. There, half the modelling work done for you. "Are we there yet, Grandad"
