Holy Bat Christmas, Robin!

Post by Airspeed »

Too cute not to share.
A rescued batling batlet or whatever you call 'em!
Note the ridges "under" the nostrils, so that mother's milk doesn't run into the nostrils when in the normal upside down position.

Amazing how nature sets up the body to cope with this sort of thing.

Brilliant photograph though can't help thinking that he has a sort of 'OK, I think you have had enough amusement for now, how about getting me out of this fancy dress now' look on his face.

Nigel.

Hi Alex, :hello:
Yeas, I can see your point, and  but to put it in context......
The people running the shelter for injured and orphaned bats post a lot of "normal" photos during the year.
I guess they thought a seasonal twist was allowable; it's not like they're putting dogs in ballet skirts and getting them to perform.
