Sad, isn't it? A bit off topic...I've been told that kids today here in the US are not taught penmanship in school. I used to have beautiful penmanship...at least until these infernal computers came along.

Brian, I would agree, and they do say that handwriting ( or penmanship if you prefer ) is on the decline, due to people typing emails instead of writing letters on paper, and so on.
However, in Cambridge, there is a very posh shopping centre called the Grand Arcade ( upmarket outlets such Apple, Tesla cars, jewellers, fashion shops etc ). The rental for each unit must be astronomical but there, on the ground floor where the rents are probably highest of all, is a branch of The Pen Shop. And pens are just about all it sells apart from a small range of leather-bound journals, Filofaxes and the odd gift item.
Never been in the place ( Bic ballpoint from Smiths suffices for me ), and when I pass by, there's never more than one or two customers. I always wonder how it keeps going, given the unit rents, what they sell, and this general decline in handwriting. They've been there since the Grand Arcade opened in 2007 and while other tennants have come and gone, there they still are, year after year, just selling pens.

Just visited The Pen Shop's website. That's definitely a pricey shop. Oh, here's a nice little pen.

'Pen Engraving Available' it says. I'd have them engrave on the pen "£300.00! Are You Mad?".
