Apparently people have been lax, to the point of mixing with others even when they had symptoms.

Hi Mike, this is one of the biggest problems even here and anywhere else for that matter, it is the won't happen to me and also, stuff the rules I am going to do what I like brigade.
From BBC News:
This government of ours is going to ease restrictions and is looking at the following for pubs and hotels:
Drinkers could be asked to order via an app rather than going to the bar
Staff could patrol to enforce social distancing
Tables at restaurants might not be set in advance
Also they have stated that
room service in hotels could be left outside of the doors to guests' rooms.
.......The way I interpret that is any change of bed sheets will be your responsibility as will cleaning the room daily instead of the chamber maids, when you check in how confident would you be in that the room has been cleaned thoroughly after the last guests!!

Also what about the handling of food in the hotels or even, when you come to think of it, fast food outlets? Used to occasionally go for a KFC but what has put me off is their kitchen clothes, which appeared grubby and also had seen some serving with bare hands and not wearing special gloves (may have changed since the Coronivirus) but not been to one for a long time.
Now this is an interesting one, we were due to go down to Paignton last Monday for 4 nights in a hotel but because of my heart attack Babs contacted them and put it back until September.
As Babs is in the high risk group (immune problems) and we have not been able to get a reply from the hotel as presently they are shut we are looking at cancelling the week in September basically because of Babs health and the fact that there is no guarantee that Covid 19 will be completely eliminated by then and will also now look as though we will lose our £100 deposit as it is none-refundable!!
Going to telephone them when they re-open and cancel but it is also written that if cancellation is made and we are unable to let the room then the full cost of your stay may be claimed. Though I do have a plan to stop payment!!
Regards
Nigel.
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
