Re: Happy Birthday Nigel H-J (74)
Hi chaps and very many thanks for the Birthday Wishes. I have not been around here much as have quite a lot on at the moment (even though retired)
Had a nasty fall a few weeks ago, I don't have a knee-cap in my right leg due to a motorcycle accident years ago when a blasted dog ran in front of me on a country road going home for Xmas. Cut a long story short, I have considerable muscle wastage in my leg and although it happens quite a few times, my leg gives way and the rest of me follows it!!
I knew that after hitting the ground I had broken one of my ribs but did not go to the doctor as know that they don't fix 'em (unless they protrude outwards through the chest)!!
All that one can do is wait until healed but boy, was it painful, also have a number of hernias to my stomach muscles after a scan for another incident but as they are small they will not operate, which I am pleased about as had major surgery on a thankfully benign tumour in my mouth that was growing in my jaw bone which has left a rather large hole in the lower jaw, which will in time grow back but not allowed to chew hard things like nuts.
Apart from all of that I'm really well!!
Treated to a bottle of whiskey (Crag & Glen) so smooth!!
Purchased Beyond ATC and for around £25 it is absolutely brilliant, still getting used to it and unfortunately forgot to file my flight plan so when it came to asking for IFR Clearance I was b*ll*cked for asking for clearance without a valid flight plan,
Well worth buying.
I will keep popping in from time to time, but as written above have a lot on at the moment. Again, many thanks chaps
Regards
Nigel.

Sorry I’m late but despite all your health issues I hope had as good a day as you could. Enjoy your whisky Nigel but not too quickly.

Ouch, Nigel.
All the very best for your multiple recovery.
Updates are most welcome.
Sounds like you did RL flying to collect your whisky; do you have your own aircraft?

Hi Rob
Just caught your message and very many thanks. Hope all is well with you
I wish I had one often have a look at some of the new micro lights that come out and if I were much younger with good health I would be very much interested in having shared ownership. This one is very good and apparently no medical required, all metal aircraft as well but with my health I am happy to stay on the ground.
PPL is expensive so never went for one but micro light does appeal to me but not ones with fabric wings!!
Equally, I can at least fly 'em in MS
Nigel.
