Ark Royal IV update

Post by Seaking »

Morning all

I'm glad to say the modelling for this project is now almost complete, it's been a long road but the old girl
is finally coming alive. We just have to get her finished in painting now.
Some other things we are looking at as well, as you can see on the deck, some low poly aircraft.
Some night lighting on the deck, the deck crane and maybe a couple of the tractors that towed the aircraft around.

Painting goes on as I type this, I wanted to get as much detail as possible to show her in her true glory.

My thanks to Fras and Bing for all their hard work on this with some still to go, my thanks also to Brian Franklin and DB
for allowing me to include their upcoming chopper and RN phantom in the pics.

Here are a few pics of how she's looking, I will be posting more as she gets more paint on her.
Enjoy

Woah, that is looking awesome! Can't wait to get my hands on this one; time to look out that old Ark Wessex planeguard scheme.

Good, saves me some work. TBH I'd have been surprised if he hadn't, it's one of the logical ones to do. However, I will still need to do a COD version of Itosan's Gannet, just for sake of completeness!

Thanks

Ahhh the COD now that would be a fitting paint to do. I remember the last
flight she did to the Ark, I can't remember the exact number of mail bags
but you could see them in the 2nd and thrid cockpits.

In todays world of course it's all email now and cell phones, not waiting for days and days for that one letter to show up.

I'll look forward to seeing it Andy

A few more progres shots for all, now have deck lighting on, WIP on some deck tractors which we thought would be a nice wee addon, and more paint and detail on the island now, enjoy.

Hi Guys

Seaking kindly sent me the Beta Ark Royal.

I love it.

Stunning detail but without the usual framerate hit.
Superb little touches everywhere.

Flightdeck crew & equipment all over the place just like the real thing.

Regards
Rick

Not fair Rick, you get all the best toys!

That is looking really good, can't wait to add her to my retro install. Note to self, better hurry up with COD repaint! :poke:
