Andover list

Post by Garry Russell »

The questions of HS.780 identity keep cropping up

The number to RNZAF cropped up today and the civil use mentioned now and again

Well this is the best I can do

It is not complete and almost certainly not up to date

The after military career of these aircraft is at beast a mess and sometimes a little dubious

So AS A GUIDE

It is not intended to be a definitive reference just an indication of the types history.

I thought there were more E3 I think than indicated, but this is all I have on it

Garry,

Your comments about E3 prompted to look at my usual source of RAF serials.

Rather than adding to your list, I will just point you to:

Under the XS sequence, looks like you suspicions were correct.

Thanks Ian

I thought as much

I didn't go any further mainly as I didn't really have the time to go into it too deeply.

The number of civil uses gets asked and there are perhaps many more than was realised.

Also the number that went to the RNZAF was asked and ten was suggested which was quite correct.

So a quick list to give some indication of use.
