Gotcha! Be honest, this isn't what you expected.

Seriously, I am hoping someone knows where I can get a better copy than this. I think it would make a great splash screen.

I think it got used for the Coltishall xmas card round about 60' or '61.

What size is your original image?

I found this if it is any better? Or was this your source?

Daft question, but I assume this is a composite image and even in the early 60s they didnt actually get all these aircraft flying together?

The Hurri would have to be goign at full chat and the Lightning on the edge of stall I would have thought?

I think it is possible that it is a real shot at about 180 kts?...How fast could the slowest aircraft fly straight and level?...You could then knock of say 10 knots and the Lightning leader could fly at that speed

Alternatively the Spit and Hurri with all the clouds etc could be one picture and the Jets against a blue sky background could have been spliced on.

Looks like the Lightning has flap too. I'd say real.

After all, if we can get the Vampire in formation with the Prentice, anything is possible!!

Tom.
