Scottish Airlines Supermarine Walrus

Post by lholmes »

There is a new repaint of Mike Stone's Supermarine Walrus available at AVSIM.com in Scottish Airlines livery.

It seems as though I remember someone here being interested in that particular paint scheme....

I don't suppose anyone knows what the colours of the Scottish Airlines Rapides were? Which obviously just begs the response "Right, No we don't"!

It's just that my mother's first flight was in one of their Rapides from Prestwick to the Isle of Man and back for a day trip in '48. A bold adventure in those days, and apparently the talk of the hotel when my parents got back in the evening.

I have a small black and white picture in the book "Lion Rampant and Winged" which shows a predominant dark colour with light striping.

ps Love the DH-86 Lee.
