My Norton Internet Security 2006 is nearing its expiry date and I was wondering whether to re-new it or try a different package such as McAfee or Panda.
I've just started using NOD 32. Unfortunately I'd just put Norton 2007 (never renew it - go to PC world and get it in the sale! - saves £15!) on the old laptop.
NOD32 runs a lot quicker, and hogs a lot less resources on the computer.
Just picked up a new system after McAfree made somethings not work right
its alled Kaspersky and it seems to work well and interface with stuff like flynet coming through tthe firewall
A hardware router and a good dash of common sense works wanders for me, and it doesn't eat your RAM either. I think it's possible to get by without internet security packages as long as one chooses sensible alternatives to things like IE (Opera, Firefox, Mozilla etc), MSN (Trillian, Jabber, Miranda), and other web applications. Of course this may not be an option if you're using a shared PC.
