The Cheshire Constabulary "Air arm"

Post by jonesey2k »

Had my window open on this rather fine day only to have the unmistakable sound of 2 big Lycomings drift in. Looked out to see the nice little Islander circling overhead.

I apologise for the quality of the images, Im still getting used to my new D50 and I was using a rubishy old 100-300mm jobbie left over from my old F60.

Nice pics, Police planes are quite rare.

I can only think of Hampshire and GMP of the top of my head who have one too.

Here in Notts we have an EC-135, there are pros and cons to both types of craft.

We used to have a twin Squirrel but now they have some Eurocopter thing.

They quite like hovering 100feet over my house now and again at about 10pm... :worried: Got a chance to meet one of the pilots and I told him so, he replied with "yeh I get told that a lot"

Amazing how the UK constabulary is ahead of us here in Nevada

The LVMPD flies 3 Hughes 500s and a Huey

The NSP has Cessna 310s for patrolling the long stretches of nothing on I15 and 95

JAB

The Hughes 500 and Huey are old, inadequate types for the work done here.

The UK fly modern, up to date types.

Sorry...can't see the brilliance
