Remember seeing this on on some TV programme. When I saw it first I thought it was funny

Christ!! Either he did not learn his Green Cross Code or else the pilot had a grudge!!
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.

There's an AAIB report this month about a similar incident at a glider race. Unfortunately the photographer (stood on top of his car) was killed...

The moral of the story: Watch out for bank angle!

This one circulated the web better than a year ago, but in MPEG format and with a few more frames still intact. Those frames, if viewed slowly, clearly showed that it was a dummy that was hit by the plane's wing.

Tom, maybe the one you viewed, but in this one, the reporter really was hit by the wing and it was purely by accident. The full story was on TV here in the US on a program called "The World's Most Amazing Videos" and included the aftermath (running up to the unconscious reporter, interview of him after the accident, pictures of the wing of the aircraft after the hit, etc). It's 100% authentic.
