Discovery Wings

Post by Sl4yer »

It would seem that Discovery Wings is no more, being replaced by Discovery Turbo. Tonight, this features end-to-end American Hotrod... :huf:

I'm sure it wasn't that popular, but is it any wonder when the same (American-slanted) programmes were shown again and again? I remember the first day I got cable (more than six years ago), when a wonderful programme called 'Lightning Interceptor' was shown - I've never seen it again since! Where as 'Planes That Never Flew' seems to show Lockheed's far-fetched P80 derivative almost every week....

Of course, there have been some good Brit aeroplane shows on. The 'Classic British Aviation' programmes were excellent, but far too rare. You can only repeat the same things over and over for so long and get away with it!

The beginning of the end was when they started showing non aviation rubbish such as The Liners and Classic Trains.
I have become, comfortably numb.

Hi all, It's been a while. Busy with work stuff  .. I wont complain but I want to get flying again!!

I really miss Disco' Wings. I wish someone would put together a great Aviation Channel. Most of the Mil' Channel is a big Recruiting tool, which is fine I guess but, It puts me to asleep.

There is so much great programing out there. They could Focus on three Main areas. Education, History, and current Opp's. Throw in some of those shows about Home built and Air show reporting and it would be wonderful.

Is Disco Wings the same as bingo wings?

I am shocked that they have got rid of it, and what the hell is Discovery Turbo? What a load of c#@p!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet it doesn't last long before they bring another channel out to replace it.
Onwards and Upwards!!!!!!!!

Is Brendan Dramatic-Pilot ("Hi, I'm Brendan Thingy, and I'm a pilot with an incredible film star haircut") still doing his prog? I used to enjoy some of the items (and I seem to remember his co-presenter as being rather easy on the eye  ) but could never take him terribly seriously.

Garry, "Disco Wings" is the name of the club they are planning to add to the A380.
