Re: X-Plane 11 My Verdict
I think I might be on my own on this, but for space reasons I have opted to go with HD Mesh v3 , instead of full Ortho scenery. I have one payware photoreal area (Mega São Paulo) but everything else is HD Mesh, and it is really very good, at least in South America. Roads, rivers and land areas are ...

Re: X-Plane 11 My Verdict
Are all of you guys running photoscenery? I'd go for add-ons for the vector data to save disk space and have seasons. The assignments for buttons is easy though got me stumped once or twice when I typed in elevator trim in the search box.....then discovered it was the wrong term.....typing in 'pitch...

Re: X-Plane 11 My Verdict
Installed the demo on my desktop PC and I'm still impressed by the UI. Managing keyboard and button assignments is so much better thanks to those filtered lists. Up and running in no time. Cranked all the sliders up to their maximum and was rewarded with a slide show, even on my GTX1060. With ...

Re: X-Plane 11 My Verdict
Dug through the XP web for a bit more. Looks like you can mostly get away with freeware to beef up the weaker aspects of the sim. And Laminar seems to be working on an improved ATC.

Re: X-Plane 11 My Verdict
Simple rules for memory modules: If the module is supported by the mainboard, the slowest one in the mix sets the overall pace. I paid £49-00 direct from XPlane for mine. Hi Bjoern, I bought it directly from X Plane at $59.99 which in sterling is £44.73 and is around 50.95 Euro. I would honestly sug...

Re: X-Plane 11 My Verdict
Ah, got it working. HDR, FXAA, medium textures, high amount of world objects, minimal reflections and static planes. With 12 AI aircraft, it's 30 FPS straight out of KPAE. Not bad. Not bad at all! It even has a MSFS keyboard layout and the UI is terribly easy to use with some nifty features like &qu...

Re: X-Plane 11 My Verdict
Installed the demo, but at the moment, I'm only succeeding in making it crash while playing with the graphics settings.

Re: X-Plane 11 My Verdict
Bjoern, it's worth it - the overall experience with X-Plane is so much better than P3D; no blurries, no popping autogen, no popping terrain, no stutters. The only down side and it is quite a big one is the investment in P3D and all those aircraft not transferable or yet made for XP. FSXSE runs quit...

Re: Still on the Phenom Trail repaint how to?
I'd be very surprised if there were computer clubs specifically dealing with flightsim repaints. Creating content for flight sims has always been a "learnas you go" affair. No formal training, no holding hands. Just you and your goal. My first repaints were nothing more than doodles to bec...

Re: X-Plane 11 My Verdict
I've watched a few videos about X-Life, World Traffic and Pilot2ATC today. With those, the X-Plane experience seems to be quite close to FSX/P3D in terms of AI/ATC (minus AI chatter). But doing a bit of mental calculation has the entire setup (X-Plane 11, World Traffic, Pilot2ATC, a good 737 or A320...
