This is true. At the same time, there isn't a TWA repaint of that aircraft with the tip tanks, is there? If there is, I'd be delighted to have it (along with BOAC, Air France, and a few others) but when there's only one out there, you take what you can get.

Those who know me well, know that Mike and I are close friends - close enough that I have his home phone and talk to him frequently. I was also his moderator during the days of his last forum. Mike is the kind of gentleman that would give a friend the shirt off his back - but cross him, and you're off that list of friends. I've seen some of the ridiculous (and that's putting it mildly) emails that he gets. I don't blame him one little bit for sticking to stuff that nobody can compare to something in the real world. I will be eternally greatful to the man for the things he's added to my Sim. There's things he's done that I wasn't thrilled with, and I've told him so. There's others that have bee around for years that I've enjoyed immensely - and I've told about them as well! If you see a genuine, glaring flaw with something, Mike will be glad to hear it, and will likely fix it and update his files. But rivet counters that have never pushed a poly are more than welcome to keep on walking.
I personally can't wait to see what his (twisted - trust me) mind will come up with next! :dance:
Thank goodness that Mike will still producing freeware, ok it may not be stuff we know but it will be great to see them. I have long admired Mike's work, ok may not be all singing and dancing but his stuff got me to paint again in FS2002 days and he always made them easy to paint. He was often ripped apart by morons who did not know how to hold a biscuit without dropping crumbs into their tea let alone make anything. Ok some constructive comments are always useful and I am sure Mike did not mind that but the endless moaning gets to a point where he must have thought, "why bother"
I will always be grateful to Mike for some cracking planes, the Shorts 360, the F27, Caravelle, Connie to name a very very few. Also I painted a huge amount of liveries for the Britannia. The only one around for FS bar the old FS5/98 days. They were not all perfect but then again only only man was perfect and they stuck him on a bloody cross!!!

Before I even get started, to my many supporters over the years, I want to say thank you. I appreciate it. Even if it may not seem like it at times.
For the others. I would just hope that some of you would take a second and think before you rush to judgment. None of you really know me. What makes me tick. Even though you may think you do.
I'm hypocritical because I didn't say thank you for help that was offered? I don't recall the incident referred to. But if I did offend anyone I'm sorry. Do you have any idea how much e-mail I get? The visitors to my web site exceed 100,000. I average 30,000 downloads a month, and my e-mail reflects that volume. Do you know how many times I've gotten hate mail from someone because I didn't respond to an earlier message? Geez. If I responded, or even read, every e-mail I get, I wouldn't have time for anything else. I mostly just skim and try to hit the high points. And even then a lot falls through the cracks. Or I may have simply missed it or forgetten. I mean, its not like I have a full time job, a wife, a family, a home and minor inconveniences like that.
I'm not perfect guys. Never claimed I was. When I cut myself I bleed red just like you do. I'm just a guy, with feelings, emotions and faults. Just like everyone else. Revered? I've certainly never claimed the title. Or any other title for that matter.
As to the notion that if I'm going to design aircraft and offer them to the public, I have to be willing to put up with the criticisms....tell me why, please. Tell me why I have to "put up" with anything. It sounds like your saying I have to behave to a certain standard before I'm allowed to give you my free work. Let's draw a parallel. You're neighbor mentions his yard needs cutting but his lawn mower broke down. You offer to let him use yours, for nothing. After doing so, he returns it and says "Hey, that engine misses, get that fixed, will you? And what's with the rust on the handle? Paint the damn thing already". Would you lend him your mower again? I wouldn't. And when you tell your neighbor that he says "Hey, if you're going to give people your lawn mower, you have to accept some criticism". Really.
It's so easy to judge someone, when you haven't walked in their shoes. Try mine on some time. You'll be shocked how heavy they can get.

Mike I think I have emailed you about 4 times over the tears the first I think was a thank you for the much needed Britannia. all my emails were answered. I personaly will miss your offerings.
