I enjoyed watching it but took no pics...I particularly liked the fact that the eclipse occurred just below the constellation Leo and just to the right of that was the planet Saturn. This was all most visible when the eclipse was total and the whole Moon a lovely coppery colour...Spectacular and unforgetable

Was quite fun to watch, I quite liked that after it became dark you could see the shape better. Tried a few pics with my D50 but mostly viewed it through a telescope. An Easy scarebus flew right across during the eclipse but thanks to my crappy tripod it didint turn out well.

I have a photo of the Solar Eclipse in 1999. I went down to Newquay, Cornwall to see it. Something that I will never forget.

Hi Garry,

It definatley was mate. I looked around and everyone on the campsite stopped talking and looked totally confused. It was only totally dark for about 45 seconds but that was enough to freak most people out.

Hi James

No worries

Saturn will be there for a while yet so next time there is a clear night take a look.

Even binoculars should let you see the rings if you can hold them steady enough.

It is a lovely sight.

Hi James

It was near to the handle of Orion a few weeks ago.......that's the one that looks a little like a "7".

It will have moved a bit but it is one of the brighter stars so won't be too hard to find.

Try and get away from city light pollution.
