Re: Cold War Warrior?
Too right, Ben! the whole thing was photoshopped by the some blokes I know at Brize Norton - the Typhoon, the Bear, the lot. It was a mutually-benefitting venture between Putin and the RAF - makes them both us and them look good. If nothing else, its a lot cheaper and more fun than our failed oil enterprises out there!
Just kidding.
But imagine how easy it would be cook up a whole campaign like that...heck, I had to look hard at that VC10 (nice job on that BTW Tonks).

Would be fun if the RAF seized XH558 and went to have some fun of their own!

At Leuchars in the mid '60s, 1500hrs on a sunday used to be favoured. They would enter northern air space just long enough to get the QRA off.AlexP wrote:Wow, such a familiar almost iconic image of the cold war brought bang up to date. It amazes me that you could easily find similar images and depict the history of the RAF fighter force: Lightning, Phantom, Tornado and now Typhoon and yet the Bear remains constant.
