Kemble Air Day: Any CBFS enthusiasts going?

Post by spatialpro »

Dear All,

Starting to think ahead to next weekend and the 2008 Kemble Air Day... are any fellow CBFS enthusiasts attending??

I'm drooling at the thought of all those classic jets... :) I hope the weather will be good!

When is it this year Andy??

Kemble is one of those events that's a lot closer to me than many but which I've only been to once! :o

Sorry, should've been specific... its next Sunday, June 15th, Father's Day.

www.kembleairday.com

I've missed the chance to get Early Bird tickets online, but hope to get them at a local Tourist Information office.

My home town isn't too far from the Cotswolds and Kemble is one of the closest major airfields (Filton being the other)... but I left home many, many moons before Kemble Air Day started going! I still plan to stay locally though, to get an early start on Sunday morning. Hoping to check out the static VC-10. Now that MoD is making major steps towards it's replacement I can sense it's impending retirement.

Yes, weather permitting, I should be there. We could meet up near Tonk's Ten! :dancer:

No.. IN Tonks 10

What a bummer it's fathers day though. I doubt very much I can wangle the time off for that as we're likely to be busy :'(

If you guy's go.. please DO go and visit the 10.. AND Tonks as you'll be unlikely to miss him. He'll be the one with TONKS on his flying ovies ( I kid ye not! ) ;-) Just don't ask him anything too technical unless you have an hour or so to withstand the answer (and I mean that in the most sincere sense) ;-)

Take lots of phots and post em in the Gallery

Sunday, June 15th? (checks calendar) I'm free! :dancer: (checks bank account for sufficient funds for Dallas to London flight + cab fare from Heathrow to DaveB's house ;-)) Argh! I'm a little short right now. :doho: Oh well, looking forward to the pics taken by the lucky few who go to the show. :)

Gawd, all these wonderful things happening so far away from me, first Brooklands and now this :@

If I had not been down to work Saturday night I may well have got up early and come down, looks like this is not my year for getting time off.

For those going, hope the weathers' good and you have a great day. :dancer:

Regards
Nigel.

Gordon & I will be there from Skysim. I used to work at Kemble in the 70's and have tried many times to attend the air day, this year I've made it, look forwards to seeing you there!

Sounds like a small gathering at the VC-10 might be in order?? Either that or the Skysim stall, if you guys are having one?

I've never met any of the folks here... is it possible to recognize a CBFS member from 50 yards?! ;-)

Yes we're having a stall. And yes it is possible to recognise CBFS members very easily, look for the blank fixed gaze, usually focused at about 18-20 inches (Monitor distance) and hands fixed in the joystick and throttle positions
